Recent and Upcoming


The Christmas/New Year period was a busy time. During December 2016 thru January 2017, two paintings  (“Sweep” and “Vigil”) were in the Winter Harvest Exhibit at BJ Spoke Gallery, Huntington, and two were in the  Annual East Meadow Invitational Art Show (“Carnival” and “Window to my world”), East Meadow Public Library. A new painting was in Art League of Long Island Members’ gallery exhibition thru December  (with Channel Calder/Rhapsody”), and two other paintings were in the Art League’s strolling gallery during January 2017  and during the same period, “Blue Rhapsody” was on exhibit at the Art Guild of Port Washington’s “Beauty in the Abstract” show. The painting received the “Honorable Mention” Award.

“MAMA”, which has received the “Honorable Mention” Award,was on display in the Town of North Hempstead Winter 2017 Multi-Cultural Art Exhibit at North Hempstead Town Hall, 220 Plandome Road, Manhasset, NY which ran February 28-April 28, 2017.

The big show was the March 2017  “Abstractions,” a one woman exhibit in the gallery,  at Farmingdale Public Library, So. Farmingdale, NY. Reception… Saturday, March 4.


April 2017 continued to shower opportunities to exhibit, in five different venues:

Town of North Hempstead Town Hall with (Honorable Mention) “MAMA” thru April 28;

East Meadow Public Library with “Sentinel/Vigil” (3rd place ribbon) and “Morning Breaks”  thru April;

BJ Spoke Gallery with “Carnival” thru April;

Art Guild of Port Washington with “American-made” thru April;

Guild Hall, East Hampton with “Blue Rhapsody” thru  to end of May.

In May, two paintings are on exhibit at the BJ Spoke Gallery in Gallery 3;in June another two paintings on exhibit, during Liz Erhlichman’s exhibition.

In addition, “Garden Emperor” is on exhibit at the Dehn Gallery at MCC on Main in Manchester, CT thru August 26.

“Fantastic World” is in the Members Showcase at the Huntington Arts Council on Main Street, in Huntington during June;

“Black Doodle/Night” is on display in the Art Guild of Port Washington Member’s Showcase, during June 2017. 

In July, 

“Kinetic” and “Come Fly Away” and “Mixed Up” are showing in the Summer Fun exhibit at the BJ Spoke Gallery.

“Garden Emperor” is still on exhibit at the Manchester, Dehn Gallery on Main Street through August. 

In August,

One of my paintings (Faith) will be on exhibit in the HAC Main Street Gallery, in the “Absolutely Abstract” Show, the reception is Friday, August 18 at the Main Street Gallery.

I have a painting (Carnival)on exhibit online with the Celeste 2017 International Prize Exhibition at its online network gallery.

Five pieces of my artwork will be in the Guild Hall’s annual “Clothesline” art event in East Hampton.

I have a painting  (Sweep) in the Xanadu Gallery of  Main St., Scottsdale, AZ online gallery and it is in the gallery’s just release print catalogue along with two more of my paintings (In Play 1 and In Play 2). I entered the special mentorship gallery competition and have been informed I made it to the second round. 


Two  portraits will be on exhibit in the Face & Figure show at the Art Guild of Port Washington in Manhasset, NY. Reception is Friday Sept. 8. The exhibition is from Sept. 2 thru October 1, 2017.

Painting, “Elephant Crush” will be on exhibit in Stony Brook, NY,  at the Long Island Museum’s annual juried art show, Animal Kingdom: from wild to tame. It opens on Sept. 15 and runs through October 22, 2o17. 



My painting “Zip-a-dee-do-dah” is on exhibit at the Barnes Gallery, Garden City, in the Suburban Art League exhibit.

Three  newest paintings are on exhibit at the BJ Spoke Gallery for the month, just in time for the famous annual Art Walk. 

Painting, “Elephant Crush” was a finalist in the LI Museum show and continues on display.

A sampling of four  paintings on exhibit at the South Nassau Unitarian Universalist Church at 228 S. Ocean Ave., Freeport, NY as a special guest artist showing with the National Assn. of Pen Women, (as daughter of Betty B. Kirshner, a former member). Exhibit runs until Nov. 19.

In November,

“Faith”  painting on exhibit in Douglaston, NY with the National Art League, as new member.Received the Honorable Mention Award at NAL Nov. 2017.

“The Gathering,” a new painting, on exhibit at the Jeannie Tengelsen Gallery,Art League of Long Island in Dix Hills, NY.

In late Nov.- thru December, and in a few cases, January…

“Baby It’s Cold Out There” annual exhibition, Painting, “Fantastic World (in winter)” on exhibit  in the thru December and all of January ’til January 28, 2018, at the Long Island Museum in Stony Brook.

Three  paintings are on  exhibit in the annual  East Meadow Invitational Art Show, East Meadow Public Library, thru December 2017. The event displays works by artists who’ve won previous annual East Meadow Art Shows.

“The Gift” is on display at the Art Guild of Port Washington, in the Annual 10 x 10  Silent Art Auction, during December, it ran until the beginning of January. {“The Gift” was sold at the auction.)

Two paintings, “Morning breaks” and “Zip-a-dee-do-dah” are in the National Art League’s Holiday Exhibition and Sale, all December 2017.


In January 2018, Exhibiting a painting (“The Gathering”) at the Barnes Gallery in Garden City. It will be with the National Art League.

From January 18- February 25, 2018, showing two new paintings and three smaller ones in the BJ Spoke Gallery’s Artist’s Choice Exhibition with guest artist/sculptor Caroline Kaplowitz. Reception: Feb. 10, 6-9 PM.

January 27-Feb. 10 Showing “Marathon” in the “FLOW” exhibition at the White Room Gallery, on Main Street in Bridgehampton, NY.  Reception: January 27, 5-7 PM.

In February, showing with the Suburban Art League at Plainview-Old Bethpage Library. Paintings on display include Joyride and On Golden Wing. Joyride received the SAL’s Award of Excellence.

February, at the National Art League in Douglaston, NY, two paintings (one littleand one large)  on exhibit for the Little & Big Juried Exhibition. For the little painting, “Burying the Hatchet” Karen received the Merit Award. 

March 2018

A painting is on display in the BLUE  juried exhibition at the Art Guild of Port Washington, NY.

Large painting “Anomaly”  is on exhibit at the National League of American Pen Women’s LI/Queens chapter in Freeport, NY at the Universalist Unitarian Congregation. Exhibit runs through April.

Entry in the juried Annual East Meadow Art Show is anticipated for April 2o18.

Entry in the juried National League of American Pen Women’s National Exhibition in the Art Centre in Des Moines, Iowa was accepted and the exhibition will be in May 2018.

Three paintings are in the BLINK art resource catalogue of  spring, and online. The printed catalogue is  distributed to over 10,000 art buyers, collectors, and galleries and others. 

Right now,painting new work for the BJ Spoke Gallery and for future venues. Already scheduled, big solo show at BJ Spoke Gallery, October 2018. Solo Show in Farmingdale, March 2019, and in Sept./Oct. 2019 Solo show at Bryant Library.
