The Huntington Arts Council’s opening reception on Friday, April 28, 6-8 PM with the exhibit, “Into the Deep” juried by Liz Fusco, at the Main Street Gallery, 213 Main Street, Huntington, NY. The exhibit is up April 27 thru May 20.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the amazing submissions of artwork for “Into the Deep.” Using another artist’s work for inspiration; in this case, Claus Hoie, is such an interesting way to evoke a unique response from another artist. The deep recesses of the ocean are not places where humans can survive but somehow we are drawn and attracted to its beauty and mystery. Each painting I chose for this exhibit communicated this feeling either abstractly or representationally. I am excited to have been part of this show. It was also a great pleasure to work with Huntington Arts Council as partners with the Cold Spring Harbor Whaling Museum.” said Liz Fusco, Juror.
Participating artists: Chris Arvans, Jennifer Berotti, Mary Ann Biehl, Elena Chestnykh, Kathy Cunningham, Ralph DeCarli, Christie Devereaux, Dr. Denise Douglas-Faraci, Lauren M. Engel, Bill Farran, Jim Finlayson, Maria Giuliani, Jan Guarino, Philip C. Jordan, Sharon A. Lobo, E Craig Marcin, Melisa Maiello ,Paula Pelletier, Roseann Rizzo, Fran Roberts, Suzanne N. Siegel, Barbara L. Stein, Nicholas J. Striga and Stephen Wyler.

Two  of Claus Hoie’s paintings are part of this show. This exhibition is in cooperation with The Whaling Museum and Education Center of Cold Spring Harbor.
